In PearlChain's model-driven approach, certain concepts are still “carved in stone”, the Core. These fundamental pieces show the user what can be accomplished with all the gathered and enriched data.
This allows for the PearlChain solution to meet non-functional requirements such as user-friendliness and performance. The Core concepts also make the solution understandable, as they provide concrete vocabulary that is related to the solution domain.
Examples of PearlChain's Core concepts are Dashboards and Reporting, Document Management, Workflows, Security, Integration, Internet of Things, Portal and our self-written Shape-IT business rules engine. Below some of the main Core components are explained.
PearlChain's Dashboard and Reporting feautures help diverse companies to visualize and analyze real-time data in order to make optimal decisions.
The users can easily customize their dashboards by choosing a different layout, adding more widgets, dragging the widgets into different positions, and changing the behaviour of individual widgets.
They can also create additional dashboards in their dashboard view, share their dashboards with other users and choose their favorites tabs. Each tab can be configured independently.
PearlChain Document Management is responsible for controlling documentation, from creation to archiving. It is used to track and store electronic documents and to track the different versions modified by different users. Specific terms can be easily found using Elastic Search.
All common document types can be saved as attachments of equipment, jobs or people.
The PearlChain client has the possibility to set up different document catalogs. An example is the management system catalog which is used to display the different manuals. Another example is the dynamic record catalog.
In the PearlChain Core solution, workflows are created to define a progression of steps that comprise a work process (tasks, events, interactions).
In a sequential workflow, each step is dependent on occurrence of the previous step while in a parallel workflow, two or more steps can occur concurrently. In the PearlChain User Interface, user-friendly check boxes can be used in order to allow any employee (experienced or interim) to operate in a safe way.
The PearlChain software allows you to create your own workflows, dependant on algorithms, business rules, resource capacities and the production flow of your company or production line.
In the PearlChain User Interface each employee sees a different screen according to their role. The operator of machine X can only see actions to be performed on that machine, while the teamleader will be able to see all machines screens. Headquarters in turn will be able to see analysis of all plants, without needing to go too much in detail if not required.
In the PearlChain Security, roles are assigned so every person sees exactly what he needs to see to work in an optimal and secure way.
